Renée Fleming is an operatic super-star soprano with a worldwide reputation.  She has performed in every major opera house and is known not only as a great opera star, but also for her work in concert halls, recording, theater, and film.  She has received more prestigious awards and honors than can be listed here including The National Medal of Arts and the French Legion of Honor among many others. Nominated 17 times for the Grammys, she has won 4. Deciding to retire after 26 years with the Metropolitan Opera in New York, she gave her final performance on that stage in her signature role as the Marschallin in Der Rosenkavalier by Richard Strauss in May, 2017. However, she remains artistically active exploring other outlets for her formidable creative gifts.  In fact, The New York Times reported she will again appear at the Met to perform a new opera, The Hours, based on the novel by Michael Cunningham in 2022 (July 30, 2020).  The annotated page of music she has contributed is from Der Rosenkavalier.

Ms. Fleming won her 5th Grammy on Feb. 5, 2023. Her album, “Voice of Nature-The Anthropocene” (Decca) was voted Best Classical Solo Vocal Album.
