Igor Stravinsky
Observations
This manuscript is a page from Stravinsky’s many sketchbooks where he jotted ideas, numerical calculations, etc. Like visual artists, composers often carried little books in which to save notes and musical ideas. This fragment may have been part of the score he was working on for “Petrushka”, a popular ballet based on a Russian fairy tale. Looking objectively, one can see a resemblance to a classic Chinese scroll.
